Band Title: Tokyo Jihen (東京事変) / The Tokyo Incidents
Formed in:
2004

Tokyo Jihen
was formed in 2004 by Shiina Ringo after she announced that
Kalk Samen Kuri no Hana would be her final solo album. The band proved to have a different style than Shiina's solo career, with jazz, rock, pop and various other influences in their style. The band first appeared with Shiina, and were introduced, at her final concert tour, Sugoroku Ecstasy.

In July 2005, Hiizami Masayuki (keyboard), and guitarist Hirama Mikio (guitar) left the band, and were replaced in September by Izawa Ichiyou and Ukigumo respectively.

Before the release of Tokyo Jihen's third single, Shuraba, and second album,
ADULT, their symbol changed from the simple paper crane, to the more developed crane logo shown below it. This shows the bands growth and progression between their albums Kyouiku (Education) and ADULT.
